"안녕하세요, 이민호 입니다
여러분과 함께 '투명 우산 프로젝트'를 시작한지 벌써 일주일이 지났네요. 그 사
이 목표했던 100만 하트를 넘어 200만 하트까지 도달해 두 가지 미션을 달성하게
되었습니다.
함께 하트를 눌러주신 여러분들 덕분에 투명우산 2,500개를 전국에 있는 초등학
교 어린이들에게 전달하고 또, 특별한 선물을 함께 나눌 수 있게 되었습니다. 참
여해 주신 분들께 진심으로 감사 드립니다.
오늘은 처음으로 투명우산 프로젝트에 대해 소개했던 1화에 이어서 조금 더 자세
한 얘기를 해볼까 합니다. 개인적으로 큰 교통사고를 겪은 후에 교통사고를 예방
하는 일에 관심을 갖게 되었다는 말씀을 드렸었는데, 우연히 한 통계를 보고 어린
친구들의 교통안전에 특별히 더 관심을 갖게 되었습니다.
"어린이 사고사망원인 1위 '교통사고'
OECD의 한 통계에 따르면 최근 10년간 어린이 사고사망원인 1위는 바로 어린이
교통사고라고 합니다.
우리나라 어린이 교통사고 사망자 수는 줄어들어가고 있기는 하지만 어린이들이
보행 중 교통사고로 사망하는 경우가 여전히 많다고 합니다. 보행 중 사고에 특별
히 취약한 나이는 취학 전 아동과 초등학교 저학년입니다.
통계를 살펴보면 취학 전 아동과 초등학교 저학년의 보행중 사망자 비율은
84.6%에 달하고, 사고 시간도 유치원이나 학교에 등교하는 시간이나 하교하는 시
간에 집중되어 있습니다. 이 통계를 보면서 어린이 교통안전을 위해 제가 할 수
있는 무엇일지 다시 한 번 고민하게 됐습니다.
'어린이 교통사고를 조금이라도 예방할 수 있는 방법이 있다면 어떤 것이 있을까'
'어린이들의 등하굣길을 조금 더 안전하게 만들어 줄 수 있는 방법은 무엇일까'하
는 고민이었습니다.
어린이들이 특히 보행 중 교통 사고를 많이 당하는 이유는 여러가지가 있다고 하
는데요. 어린이는 어른보다 집중력이 좋은데 그 집중력 때문에 주변을 보지 못하
는 경우가 많습니다. 주변 상황을 살피기보다 친구들과 장난치고 핸드폰 보는 것
에 집중하기도 하죠.
또, 어른보다 상대적으로 키가 작은 어린 친구들은 운전자에게 보이지 않는 상황
에서도 자기 눈에는 자동차가 보이기 때문에 차가 알아서 멈춰 줄 것이라고 생각
하는 경우도 많다고 해요. 소리가 나는 방향도 정확히 알아채지 못하는 편이기도
하구요. 그렇기 때문에 성인과는 다르게 보행 중에 사고를 당할 확률이 높아지는
것입니다
"그렇다면 비가 오는 날은 어떨까요?
어린이들의 관심을 끄는 것들은 더욱 많아지고, 소리의 전달력은 더 떨어질 수 밖
에 없습니다. 원래도 어른의 2/3 밖에 되지 않는 시야는 더 좁아집니다. 비 때문
에 운전자의 시야도 같이 좁아지고, 길을 건너는 아이들을 발견하는 게 힘든 상황
이 됩니다.
이런 위험한 상황을 대비해 어린 친구들에게 필요한 것은 안전에 대한 중요성을
인식하게 하는 교육 시간과 프로그램들입니다. 더불어 저는 프로미즈에서 여러분
과 함께 할 수 있는 간단하고 쉬운 방법을 생각해봤습니다.
바로 '투명우산'인데요
집에 있는 부모님이나 어른들이 쓰는 크고 무거운 우산은 어린 친구들이 들고 다
니기도 힘이 들 것 같았고, 어둡고 앞이 안 보이는 불투명한 우산은 주변을 살필
수 없어 어린 친구들에게는 너무 위험할 것 같다는 생각이 들었습니다.
아이들에게는 작고 가벼우면서 투명한 재질로 되어 있어 앞도 뒤도 옆도 다 잘
보이는 투명 우산이 필요했습니다.
"어린이를 위한 투명우산 프로젝트
그래서 저와 프로미즈는 2015년부터 투명우산 프로젝트를 진행하게 되었고, 비
가 오는 날 우산을 준비하지 못한 어린 친구들이 자유롭게 우산을 쓰고 하교할
수 있도록 프로젝트에 참여하실 초등학교를 선정해 투명우산을 비치했습니다
프로젝트가 진행 방법 역시 간단합니다. 투명우산을 각 교실 및 교무실에 비치해
서 비 오는 날 우산을 가져오지 않았거나 쓰기 힘든 어른 우산을 가지고 온 친구
들이 자유롭게 프로미즈의 투명우산을 사용할 수 있습니다. 프로미즈 투명우산은
우산을 쓰고 안전하게 집으로 돌아간 뒤, 다시 반납을 하면 됩니다.
이 과정에서 학생들이 자율적으로 투명우산을 대여하고 반납하면서 나눔과 책임
감에 대해 느낄 수 있는 작지만 큰 기회를 주고 싶었습니다.
투명우산 프로젝트가 공개된 후 "하트를 누르며 행복해졌다"는 여러분들의 덧글
을 보며 저도 같이 행복해졌습니다. 다시 한 번 참여해 주신 여러분들께 감사드립
니다.
다음 화에서는 저와 프로미즈가 지금까지 함께해 온 나눔이 어떤 것이었는지 소
개해 보려고 합니다. 미션은 이미 달성되었지만 나눔은 지금부터 시작이니까요.

It's been a week since I started the "Transparent Two-Person Umbrella" project with all of you. The hearts that was received was over 2 Millions when the first target was 1 Million and apart from that, actually there are two missions that I wanted to achieve.
Currently 2,500 "Transparent Two-Person Umbrella" has been distributed to elementary schools in the country side & because of that I am very thankful to all of you. Thank you to all of you who had 'clicked the hearts' and in turn, giving them the special gifts. Thank you for all of you who have seriously took part in this.
Today, following the first episode that mainly introducing and explaining the "Transparent Two-Person Umbrella" project, I would like to take time to talk more to all of you for a while. I personally have an experience in a big accident and hence, I am interested in projects encouraging traffic safety and prevent traffic accidents, especially to those youngsters and children after I saw the statistcs.
"No.1 Reason of Children-Death is accident"
According to OECD's Statistics for the past 10 years, has strongly stated that the number 1 reason behind children's death are traffic accidents especially with cars.
Our country South Korea has been doing a lot of things to reduce the fatalities and effect of traffic accidents, but I personally think that too many children have died in traffic accident especially when they're walking on the road. Children who are vulnerable are particularly kindergarten and elementary school students who tend to walk a lot in their early age.
I was looking at the statistics and saw that 84,6% of children who experienced traffic accidents are kindergarten and elementary school students, and particularly during the school time or while they're on the way to school or going back.I was personally troubled by the statistics and thinking on the traffic safety precautions of these children.
'I wonder if there's really a way to prevent the children on the traffic accident even by a little' is what I was thinking, I was worried on finding out the better way for these children to be safer on the road.
I was looking for the reason on why the children had to suffer the traffic accident while walking, and there are many reason behind it. However, rather than the children, I wanted to put it on the responsibility on the adults. Especially adults should also be more cautious of their surrounding while driving their car, when they're talking with the passengers or even on their cell phone to always focus. In addition, children have relatively small physic which makes the adults unable to see them and unable to stop the car in time when the children walk into their direction. This is also the reason behind the traffic accident happening to children while walking.
"And how about during those rainy days?"
Most children think that rainy days are interesting for them, and adults who are driving mainly can't hear anything except the rain sound. More over, the view of adults are getting narrower up to only 2/3 or more. This is very important, Rain also narrows the driver's vision and they would be unable to see the children walking or even crossing the road. It is also important to remind the small children that during rainy days it's very dangerous when they walk, and make training programs to make sure of their safety, making them realizing the importance of their safety. In my opinion with PROMIZ charity platform, this could be the most effective yet easy and simple way.
"And what do you think on the effect of this Transparent Two-Person Umbrella"
Parents and adults tend to give the children , their big and heavy umbrella that are available at home which the children sometimes find difficulties in holding it, and it'll become dark in front of them, making them unable to see their surrounding in which it become dangerous for them. If it's made of lighter material and smaller, The Children would be able to see their surrounding with the Transparent Two-Person Umbrella.
"The Transparent Two-Person Umbrella Project for the children"
Me in PROMIZ Charity Platform has been coming up with this Transparent Two-Person Umbrella since 2015. and now i'm focusing more on the children to join the project especially giving this to the school who didn't have umbrella prepared for the children.
For the adults who are joining this project, the process is really simple. To provide the Transparent Two-Person Umbrella in each classroom at school, and when adults only had the heavy umbrella, make sure the children use the PROMIZ Transparent Two-Person Umbrella. With this project, children can return home safer and they can return the umbrella on the next day. The process of borrowing and returning might be simple, but in this way I am sure that this could also make the children learn the sense of responsibility.
After this project on 'Clicking the Hearts to share happiness' for the Transparent Two-Person Umbrella , I am Happy by watching all these process. Thank you once again for all of you who have joined this project. Next, from now there are more project to be introduce with PROMIZ.
